St George Afternoon Greek School

St George Parish Annual General Meeting
To take place in February in the Church Hall. Details of the exact date, along with AGM information and voting papers, to be sent to St George Financial members.
Friday 23rd Apr: Making of Palm Crosses and Decorating The Church for Palm Sunday
Come and learn how to make Palm Sunday crosses in the Church Hall at 7:00pm as we prepare the the Church for Palm Sunday and Holy Week.
Sunday 25th Apr: Palm Sunday Family Lunch
Join our Parish community for the annual Palm Sunday Lunch at 12:00pm at the Royal Motor Yacht Club, 21 Wunulla Road, Point Piper. This is a very popular, sellout event so look out for ticket information from the Ladies Auxiliary-Philoptohos or contact the Church Office.
Good Friday 30th Apr: Arranging The Flowers of The Epitaphios
All are welcome, from 10am in the Church Hall, to participate in the Easter tradition of preparing “The Epitaphios” (symbolising Christ’s tomb) in preparation for the Good Friday Funeral Service, taking place that evening.
Sunday 2nd May: Evening Vespers for St George’s Day Liturgy
Every year, on the eve of St George’s feast day, we traditionally hold an evening vespers “prayers” service at 7:00pm which is followed by Supper in the Church Hall.
Monday 3rd May: St George’s Day Liturgy
Divine Liturgy held on the Feast Day of St George at 8:00am, followed by morning tea in the Church Hall.
Sunday 9th May: Annual St George’s Day BBQ Festival.
The biggest St George Parish Community event of the year, typically held on the first Sunday following the Feast Day of St George. Sunday 15th Aug: The Dormition of Panagia Liturgy and Sweets & Treats Day
The Liturgy starts at 9:30am and is followed at 11:00am by the annual Sweets & Treats Day, prepared with love and hosted by the St George Ladies Auxiliary-Philoptohos
Sun 3rd Oct: St George Ladies Auxiliary-Philoptohos Annual General Meeting
To take place in the Church Hall at 11:30am. The entry fee includes a full buffet lunch, guest speaker and annual membership.
Friday 31st Dec: Vespers For New Year’s Eve and Tradition of the Vasilopita
The annual tradition of cutting the Vasilopita to take place in the Church Hall after the service, from 6:30pm-8:00pm
